Ok, So you've started your business... Now what?

Now that you've started a new business, what's the next step?

The next step is get your mindset ready, because even though you've started a new business, you have to keep that business going, which means getting traffic to your business and having the right mindset to do what needs to be done to do that no matter what.

Whether this is an Internet business or an actual brick & mortar business, you need traffic, meaning either people are going to your website or people are walking into the doors of your new store. Your MINDSET is a BIG part of your accomplishments, so lets start with that...

Ask yourself... Why did I start this business? Be honest with your answer. Sit down with pen in hand and write down the pros and cons of you starting your business. Write down your main goal. How will you feel once this goal is achieved? Try to feel that feeling and hold it for a few minutes. Now that you've started your business, just know that... as long as you "STAY WITH IT", You WILL Accomplish that Goal! It might help to get some 3x5 index cards or even some post it notes and write down your goal on one of them and stick it everywhere... your bathroom mirror, your bedroom mirror, your refrigerator, in your car, etc., and everytime you see it, feel the feeling of already having accomplished that goal. Stay positive, be persistent, and be patient. Have the mentality of "I'm Gonna Do It, That's It Period"

Now that you've have your goal in your mind, let's talk about getting visitors to your business. There are a few ways to do that like... posting ads, word of mouth, flyers and more. If you have an advertising budget, great. If you don't, that's great too, cause there are plenty of free advertising that you can utilize, for instance, social media (which is an awesome way to let people know what you have to offer. Whatever social media platform you are on you can, especially Facebook, you can advertise, but as with anything else, there are rules to advertising on social media, so be sure to adhere to the rules. Facebook will put you in Facebook Jail with a quickness, I've been there plenty of times and I'm still not sure what the exact rules are lol.

Traffic exchanges are Safelists are also a great way to advertise your products and services. Email Marketing is also a great way to get your word out provided you don't Spam anyone (sending your message to anyone who didn't request it. There are plenty of email blasters that you can use to send your ad Spam Free. Only send email to people you know or who have requested

The thing with any of your advertising is your have to do it everyday. That's where your mindset comes in. Honestly, it's all very simple, but sometimes we seem to over think the process.

All in all, you just have to think positive, post ads or put out flyers, or talk about your products and services to others, business cards will help with this, do something towards your business everyday.

There is one thing I forgot to mention... Ask your Higher Power for Business Success

Trust the Process

Be Patient and Positive, It Will Pay Off

When you do anything that takes time, you have to have patience and be positive...

that's easier said than done, right?

...you get so tired of seeing these infomercials about people making thousands of dollars in 1 day, 1 week, 1 month... and, here it is 1 year later and you still haven't seen a single penny...

well, I'm no longer in that place...

I can now agree with them...!!!

...and, although, it took me over 3 years to get to this point, I had patience and continued to be positive while I contined to work toward my goal. I still haven't fulfilled my goal yet, but I know it's coming. So, I continue to work toward my goal everyday and stay positive while I advertise my business and send out a few extra emails here and there...but mainly

...I had patience, a lot of it, there were plenty of times when I'd just sit and cry wondering - when is it finally going to happen for me.

but it worked out! Me, being Patient and Positive, paid off. It took a lot longer than I wanted it too...but finally, it happened for ME!

...And it WILL Happen FOR YOU too! Think about the 3 P's - Patience, Positivity, Pay-off!

I just wanted to share a thought I had...maybe this thought will help you not give up on "YOUR Big Picture", everything works when you work it!

Do You Know the 3 P's

Patience, Persistence
&
Positivity

Pays Off!!

Learn How To Interact With Different People

I ran across this little bit of information and thought that some people have a problem interacting with people, this will help with that.

1. Don't be afraid to interact. Help someone find the right metro stop. Apologize, and meet their eyes if you bump into someone. This will help you be more attentive to your surroundings, and the real, individual people around you. If somebody is open to interaction, start a conversation.

2. Say, 'have a good day/evening/night', 'please', and 'thank you' to people.
There's always time for it, no matter what you think. Even if it's called over your shoulder as you sprint for the door. Don't let this be a scripted response; you'll sound mechanical, and the words won't come across. Make eye contact, smile, and say 'thanks' with sincerity. Also, vary what you say to people. Get creative. This will keep you sincere and engaged, as well as making people feel
special, and making you seem interesting. As before, if someone else wishes you a good evening, say, respond with a smile, and 'you too'. Don't shut them off.

3. Now that you're actually aware of the people around you, try observing them a bit. Don't go into this with any assumptions of people, just listen to what your instinct tells you. You'll often be able to tell how they feel about you, how their day has been, even how sick or well they are. Be careful to be polite while actually observing people. Don't stare. For some people, even looking at them can make them uncomfortable. You'll notice this quickly.

4. Now, make some stranger's day. For this, pick somebody that you interact with, in a cursory fashion. Retail people, coworkers you pass in the hall... anything. Most people have some part of their appearance or action that they clearly care about, or take an interest in. Does the checkout clerk have interesting tattoos? Does the secretary have juggling balls on her desk? Give them a sincere smile, make a moment of eye contact, and comment. Ask the secretary if she juggles.
Compliment the clerk's tattoos. Don't get elaborate, just make it simple and honest. So that there's the least risk of awkwardness, make this comment when your business is finished, and you're about to move on. That way, you can pause if they follow up and want to talk, or move on normally if they don't. If they shut down or look awkward, don't hurry off. Keep smiling, nod goodbye or wish them a good day, and move off at a normal pace.

5. If this works out, you've just made a stranger's day. Watch them smile, show off a little, or say a proud 'thank you'. Ten to one, you've just made your own day a whole lot better. People can be very awkward about actually connecting with strangers, worried about intentions or feel threatened or harassed, it's surprisingly easy to strike a balance of interaction and the most important, recognizable factor, simple sincerity.

Tips
• Humans are naturally very empathic animals. We pick up on each other's emotions through posture and speech. Everyone around you affects your mood, and you affect theirs. Try getting into the habit of smiling, walking with energy rather than shuffling and slumping, and enjoying your surroundings. Even if you've seen it a thousand times, there's almost always something there that will shock and delight you if you actually look at it.

• "What I tell you three times is true." You cannot fake an emotion three times without feeling it yourself. Smile at people when you're having a lousy day. It'll look forced for the first couple of times, but pretty soon you'll realize you're actually feeling better. On the other hand, you can't fake anger or sadness without feeling angry or sad. So stay away from faking negativity; the sympathy or intimidation you might get out of it aren't worth it.

Heed These Warnings
• Don't go overboard. Tiny little snippets of positive interaction when people are receptive is good. Trying to force strangers into conversations out of the blue is bad, nervous, and awkward. Boundaries are instinctive; don't step over them.

• Always be prepared to leave in a pleasant fashion. Even the most well-intended interaction can be taken the wrong way by others.
